In conjunction with the construction of new residential structures, electric meter bases shall be installed on the side of the structure, nearest the City’s service point and nearest the front of the structure as practicable, unless an alternate location is approved by the Director of Electric Utilities. On corner lots, the meter base may be located on the rear of the structure, nearest the City’s service point and nearest the side street as practicable. No meter installation shall cause service entrance conductors to enter a structure without a service disconnecting means at the closest point of entry as described in the National Electrical Code Article 230-70.
