A. Wildfire Fuel Reduction & Noxious Weed Abatement. Permits shall only be issued for the purpose of forest fire fuel reduction or noxious weed management. After a permit is obtained from the Fire Chief, outdoor fires are authorized from March 1 until fire season is declared, and for a period of two weeks immediately following the termination of fire season, when the ventilation index is over 400 and fire conditions are conducive to safely burning.

B. Fire Department Training Fires. Outdoor fires are permitted on any day of the year the ventilation index is over 400 if fire fuel conditions are conducive to safely burning and the outdoor fire is for the purpose of burning a structure or other use of fire for training purposes by the Fire Department or supervision of the Fire Department.

C. Religious Fires. Religious fires are permitted on any day of the year after notice of the specific date to the Fire Chief and provided that all safety precautions required by the Fire Chief are met.

D. Campfires. Campfires in areas designated by the Park Commission are permitted in Lithia Park on any day of the year except during periods of extreme fire danger. (Ord. 2937 § 2, amended, 04/03/2007; Ord. 2905, amended, 01/20/2004; Ord. 2857, amended, 06/20/2000; Ord. 2552, amended, 1990)
